From Small Beginnings to Big Impact: How YouTube Is Helping Me Reach and Inspire More Students

When I uploaded my first maths walkthrough to YouTube, I honestly had no idea where it would lead.
It began as a simple way to help my own students — a space where they could revisit tricky questions, pause and rewind detailed explanations, and build confidence outside of our lessons.

Fast-forward to today, and that small start has turned into something much bigger.
The Guffick Tuition YouTube channel has now reached over 42,000 views and nearly 400 subscribers, with students tuning in from across the UK and around the world. 🎉

🎯 The Goal Has Always Been Simple

From the beginning, my mission has been to make high-quality, exam-focused maths teaching accessible to every student who’s willing to work hard and aim high.

Whether it’s a GCSE student pushing for a Grade 9, an A-Level student targeting an A*, or someone who just needs that extra boost of confidence before a mock, YouTube has opened a door to reach and support learners far beyond the virtual classroom.

What I love most about it is how it allows students to learn at their own pace:

Recently, I started running live revision sessions — and they’ve been an incredible experience.
Seeing students interact, ask questions in real time, and engage with the teaching reminds me exactly why I do this.

Even though the live audience is still small, I’ve always believed in the power of small beginnings.
When you focus on helping just one student — and do it well — growth happens naturally.

It’s been fascinating to see just how global online education has become.
I’ve had messages from students in the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, and even the U.S., all benefiting from the same exam-focused lessons that started right here in my garden office — “Guffick Tuition International HQ.”

It’s humbling to think that a single video recorded at my desk can make a real difference to a student sitting halfway around the world.
